One of the ways I practice "deliberately pivoting to positive" is to "notice what’s up to get unstuck" – the sky, the weather, birds, the trees are there all the time waiting to be noticed and admired (even a cloudy day has some magic especially if you remember the sun is still up there shining). Just looking up, pausing and taking a deep breath works to remind me there is a much bigger world out there than whatever is swirling around in my mind.
I do this everyday – multiple times – to help me slow down and get centered especially when I start to feel myself getting overwhelmed with pressures and “to dos”. It’s like giving myself a mini time-out to recharge and reconnect to the present moment.
What do you practice noticing and savouring to slow yourself down before speeding up again?
